The Matter At Hand

I’ve seen many people recently mention how they use a read-it-later service but don’t actually read what they put in their queues. Since I paid cash money for my Matter subscription, I’m proud to say that I am not one of those people. Though I may always have a considerable list of pieces waiting to be read, I’m constantly biting off chunks.

There are times, though, when I’ve bitten off more than I can chew. I’ve sent some articles to my Kindle, then when I take a look at the 6000 word mountain, I realize I don’t have the fortitude to climb its craggy peaks. Something along the lines of what was I thinking usually goes through my head as I realize that I don’t even have that much interest in the subject. As I’ve come to understand with bugs in a backlog that will never stand a chance of being fixed, I have to ruthlessly excise these articles. The sooner I can make that call, the sooner I free up the momentum to read something else.
